Pra-debut

Jo Kwang Min dan Young Min mengikuti audisi untuk JYP Entertainment, di mana mereka dilatih dengan perusahaan selama dua tahun . Baru seratus hari jadi artis anak-anak jo twins sudah muncul di 300an iklan di korea ! OMAIGAAT . Saat di senior high school , Dong Hyun membintangi Conduct Zero. Selain itu Donghyun juga muncul sebagai bintang iklan di jepang.

No Woo Min adalah member pertama Boyfriend yang dirilis . Dirilis pada tanggal 22 Maret 2011, Ia muncul sebagai cameo di MV K. Will "My Heart beating" , dengan IU dan Lee Joon MBLAQ.  Dua hari kemudian, Starship Ent nberu mengeluarkan jo twins , Jo Young Min dan Jo Kwang Min. Starship juga mengungkapkan bahwa mereka sebelumnya menjabat sebagai K. Will 's back-up dance dalam berbagai program Quiz That Changes the World  pada bulan Januari 2011. Sebelum debut mereka, mereka muncul di M! Pick , yang mengungkapkan perjalanan debut mereka.
